Deleted Messages: View & Save — an Android application by Ample Soft
Last updated: May 20, 2026
Plain-language summary. The app reads incoming notifications on your device and saves the content locally so you can view it even if the sender deletes it. We do not see your messages. We do not upload them. We do not store them on any server. The app shows advertisements through Google AdMob, and we receive anonymous crash reports through Firebase to diagnose bugs. Deleted Messages: View & Save is an independent application and is not affiliated with WhatsApp Inc. or Meta Platforms, Inc.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Ample Soft ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the mobile application Deleted Messages: View & Save (the "App"). We respect your privacy and have designed the App so that the messages and media you save remain on your device. We do not see, upload, or store the content of your saved messages.
By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the App.
2. Information we do not collect
We do not collect, transmit, or store on our servers any of the following:
- The content of your messages, including text, photos, videos, voice notes, and any attachments captured from notifications
- Your contact list or address book
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials
- Your precise geographic location (GPS coordinates)
- Your call history, SMS messages, or browsing history
- Any files outside of the media folder you choose to grant access to
- Your device's unique hardware identifiers (e.g. IMEI, MAC address) for any purpose
All such data remains on your device only.
3. Information processed entirely on your device
The App processes the following data locally on your Android device. It never leaves your device, and we have no access to it:
- Text content of incoming notifications captured via Android's Notification Access for the apps you select (such as WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business, Messenger, Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, Skype, Signal, and Gmail)
- Photos, videos, voice notes, and other media saved from the messaging app media folder (typically
/Android/media/com.whatsapp/...) that you select during onboarding - Sender names, conversation identifiers, and timestamps captured from those notifications
- Your in-App preferences and settings, including the list of apps you have enabled for monitoring and your language preference
- Search indexes the App builds locally so you can search through your saved messages
This data is stored in the App's private storage area on your device. When you uninstall the App or clear its data through your Android system settings, all of this information is permanently deleted.
4. Information collected for diagnostic and configuration purposes
The App uses Google Firebase services for diagnostics, performance monitoring, and remote feature configuration. Specifically:
4.1 Firebase Crashlytics
Firebase Crashlytics receives automatic, anonymized reports if the App crashes or experiences errors. This helps us diagnose and fix issues. Firebase Crashlytics may collect:
- Device model and manufacturer
- Android operating system version
- App version and build number
- A stack trace and exception details describing where the crash occurred
- A non-personal Crashlytics Installation UUID used to deduplicate reports across the same install
- The state of the App at the time of the crash (e.g. which screen was open)
- The amount of memory in use and other low-level system metrics at the time of the crash
4.2 Firebase Performance Monitoring
Firebase Performance Monitoring collects anonymous performance data to help us understand how the App performs on different devices. This includes app startup time, screen rendering speed, and network request latency. No personal data or message content is included.
4.3 Firebase Remote Config
Firebase Remote Config is used to manage feature flags and configuration settings (such as ad frequency limits and feature availability) without requiring an app update. This service does not collect personal data from you. It only delivers configuration values from our servers to your device.
4.4 Firebase Analytics
Firebase Analytics collects anonymous usage statistics to help us understand which features are used most. Events tracked include app opens, screen views, and ad performance metrics. No message content, contact names, or personally identifying content is logged.
None of these Firebase services collect your saved messages, saved media, contact names from your conversations, your search queries, or any other personally identifying content from inside the App.
Firebase is a service operated by Google LLC. For details about how Firebase handles diagnostic data, see Google's documentation at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
5. Advertising
The App displays advertisements powered by Google AdMob, a service operated by Google LLC. Advertising revenue allows us to offer the App free of charge. To serve relevant ads and measure ad performance, Google AdMob may collect:
- Your Google Advertising ID (a resettable, non-personal identifier on your Android device)
- Information about how you interact with ads (impressions, clicks, video views)
- Your approximate location, derived from your IP address
- Device model, operating system version, and language settings
- Information about the App version and the screen where an ad was displayed
Google AdMob does not collect the content of your saved messages, your media, your contact list, or your conversations.
5.1 Ad formats used
The App uses the following Google AdMob advertising formats:
- App Open Ads — Full-screen ads displayed briefly when you launch the App from a cold start. These help offset hosting and distribution costs.
- Interstitial Ads — Full-screen ads displayed at natural transition points, such as when exiting a chat or media view. These appear only after you have completed an action, not before.
- Native Advanced Ads — Ads that blend with the App's user interface and content. These are clearly marked as "Ad" or "Sponsored" to distinguish them from organic content, in accordance with Google AdMob policies.
- Banner Ads — Small rectangular ads, typically displayed at the top or bottom of certain screens. Banner ads remain visible while you use those screens.
We have implemented frequency caps, cooldown periods, and placement rules to ensure ads do not appear too frequently or disrupt your experience. Ads are never shown on sensitive screens such as the Paywall, Settings, Onboarding, Language Selection, Permission requests, or the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use pages. PRO subscribers do not see any ads of any format.
5.2 Personalized ads and your choices
Google AdMob may use the data above to display personalized advertisements based on your inferred interests. You have control over this:
- Open your device's Settings
- Tap Google → Manage your Google Account
- Go to the Data & Privacy tab
- Under Ad personalization, you can turn off personalized advertising
You can also reset your Google Advertising ID at any time through Settings → Google → Ads.
5.3 EU/UK/Switzerland consent (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the App will display a consent banner on first launch through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). You may choose to consent to personalized ads, accept only non-personalized ads, or modify your choices later through the App's Settings.
5.4 California consent (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. The App provides a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" option through the consent banner and Settings menu.
For more information on how Google handles advertising data, see Google's advertising privacy policy.
6. Permissions used by the App
The App requests the following Android permissions:
- Notification Access (
BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE) — required for the App to read incoming notifications from the apps you select. Without this permission, the App cannot function. You enable this permission through Android's Notification Access settings during onboarding. - Media Access (
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES,READ_MEDIA_VIDEO,READ_MEDIA_AUDIO) — used on Android 13 and above to save photos, videos, and voice notes from the messaging app media folders that you select during onboarding. - Storage Access (
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE,WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) — used on older Android versions for the same purpose as Media Access above. Limited to the folder you select. - Post Notifications (
POST_NOTIFICATIONS) — used to display in-App alerts when new content is saved. - Battery Optimization Exemption (
REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS) — requested optionally to ensure the notification listener service is not killed by Android's battery optimization, which would cause the App to miss deleted messages. - Billing (
com.android.vending.BILLING) — used to process in-App subscription purchases through Google Play Billing. - Internet and Network State (
INTERNET,ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) — used to deliver advertisements, deliver anonymized crash reports to Firebase, fetch Remote Config values, and communicate with Google Play Billing. No message content is ever transmitted.
You can revoke any of these permissions at any time through your device's Settings → Apps → Deleted Messages: View & Save → Permissions, or through Android's Notification Access settings.
7. Subscriptions and billing data
The App offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions to remove advertisements and unlock additional features. All subscription purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not collect, see, or store your payment card details, billing address, or any other payment information. When you subscribe:
- Google Play receives your payment information directly. We receive only a confirmation that the purchase was successful and the type of subscription you bought.
- Subscription renewals are handled by Google Play.
- You can manage or cancel any subscription at any time through Google Play → Subscriptions, or through the Manage Subscription option in the App's Settings.
Google Play's handling of your payment information is governed by Google's privacy policy, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
8. How we share information
We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to third parties.
We share limited data with the following third-party service providers, strictly for the purposes described in this Policy:
- Google AdMob — Device identifiers and ad interaction data, for the purpose of serving advertisements (see Section 5)
- Google Firebase — Anonymous diagnostic, performance, and analytics data (see Section 4)
- Google Play Billing — Purchase confirmation data, for the purpose of processing subscriptions (see Section 7)
We may also disclose information if we are required to do so by law, court order, or to enforce or protect our legal rights. Because the App's design means no message content or saved media is available to us, there is generally no such content available for us to disclose.
9. Data retention
- On-device data: retained on your device until you delete the App, clear its data through Android system settings, or manually remove items from within the App. We have no role in this retention.
- Crash diagnostic reports: retained by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days, after which they are automatically deleted by Google in accordance with Firebase Crashlytics' standard retention policy.
- Performance and analytics data: retained by Firebase Analytics for up to 14 months, in accordance with the retention period configured in our Firebase console.
- Advertising data: retained by Google AdMob in accordance with Google's data retention policies, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
- Subscription records: retained by Google Play for the duration required by Google's policies and applicable tax and consumer protection laws.
10. Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13, or under the age of 16 in the European Economic Area. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. The App is listed in Google Play with an age rating that reflects this. If you believe a child has used the App, please contact us at the email address in Section 15 so that we can address the matter.
11. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information.
11.1 European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, port, and object to the processing of your personal data. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. You also have the right to withdraw your consent to advertising tracking at any time through the App's Settings.
11.2 California, USA (CCPA / CPRA)
You have the right to:
- Know what personal information is collected about you
- Delete personal information collected about you
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (which, for advertising purposes, you can do through the App's Settings)
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Non-discrimination for exercising these rights
11.3 Other jurisdictions
If you reside outside the regions listed above, you may have similar rights under your local data-protection laws.
Because most data the App handles remains on your device, you can exercise most of these rights yourself by clearing the App's data, uninstalling the App, or revoking its permissions through your device's Settings. For requests related to the limited diagnostic and advertising data described in Sections 4 and 5, please contact us using the details in Section 15.
12. International data transfers
Firebase and Google AdMob are operated by Google LLC, headquartered in the United States. By using the App, you understand that anonymized diagnostic and advertising data may be processed in the United States and in other countries where Google operates. Google relies on Standard Contractual Clauses and other lawful transfer mechanisms approved by the European Commission and other regulators to transfer data from regions including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland.
13. Languages and regions
The App is currently published in the following languages: English, Hindi, Arabic, French, Spanish (Latin America and Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), German, Italian, and Turkish. Translations are provided for convenience. In the event of any conflict, the English version of this Privacy Policy controls.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document and post the updated version at the URL listed in Section 15. Material changes that affect how we handle your information will be brought to your attention through the App or other reasonable means. Your continued use of the App after such changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
