Data Deletion Request
Deleted Messages: View & Save — an Android application by Ample Soft
Last updated: May 20, 2026
Summary. This page explains how you can request deletion of your data associated with the Deleted Messages: View & Save Android application. Because the App is designed to store your saved messages and media only on your own device, most data can be deleted by you at any time without contacting us. For the limited anonymous diagnostic and advertising data processed by our third-party service providers (Google Firebase and Google AdMob), this page explains how to request deletion.
1. Overview
The Deleted Messages: View & Save app ("the App") is designed with privacy in mind. As described in our Privacy Policy, we do not maintain user accounts and we do not collect personal information that identifies you. All messages and media that the App saves remain on your device only.
However, the App does send limited anonymous data to third-party service providers operated by Google LLC for the purposes of diagnostics, performance monitoring, analytics, and advertising. This page explains how to delete each category of data.
2. Data the App processes
The App involves the following categories of data:
- On-device data — Messages, photos, videos, voice notes, and App preferences stored locally on your Android device
- Firebase diagnostic data — Anonymous crash reports, performance metrics, and usage analytics
- AdMob advertising data — Google Advertising ID and ad interaction events
- Google Play subscription data — Purchase history for PRO subscriptions
3. Deleting on-device data (most data — done by you)
Because the App stores your saved messages and media only on your device, you can permanently delete this data yourself at any time without contacting us. Choose one of the following methods:
Method A — Clear App data through Android Settings
- Open your device's Settings
- Tap Apps (or Application Manager on some devices)
- Find and tap Deleted Messages: View & Save
- Tap Storage
- Tap Clear Storage (or Clear Data)
This will permanently delete all saved messages, media, search indexes, and preferences from your device.
Method B — Uninstall the App
Uninstalling the App from your device automatically removes all locally stored data. To uninstall:
- Long-press the App icon on your home screen or App drawer
- Tap Uninstall
- Confirm
Method C — Revoke Notification Access
To stop the App from saving new messages without uninstalling it:
- Open Settings → Apps → Special access → Notification access
- Find Deleted Messages: View & Save and toggle it off
Note: Revoking Notification Access stops new data from being captured but does not delete data that has already been saved. To delete previously saved data, use Method A or B above.
4. Deleting Firebase diagnostic data
The App uses several Firebase services operated by Google LLC, each of which receives only anonymous, non-personal data:
- Firebase Crashlytics — anonymous crash reports (stack traces, device model, OS version)
- Firebase Analytics — anonymous app usage events (screen views, app opens)
- Firebase Performance Monitoring — anonymous performance metrics
- Firebase Remote Config — configuration delivery (does not collect personal data)
Firebase identifies devices by a non-personal Firebase Installation ID. To delete this data:
Method A — Reset Firebase Installation ID (automatic)
When you uninstall the App, the Firebase Installation ID associated with your install is invalidated. Existing diagnostic data is automatically retained by Firebase only for its standard retention period:
- Firebase Crashlytics: up to 90 days
- Firebase Analytics: up to 14 months (configured in our Firebase console)
- Firebase Performance Monitoring: up to 90 days
After these periods, Google automatically deletes the data.
Method B — Request earlier deletion
If you wish to request earlier deletion of any Firebase data associated with your device, send a request using the form at the bottom of this page. Because Firebase data is not tied to a personally identifiable account, we will need additional information to locate the relevant records (see Section 7).
5. Deleting AdMob advertising data
The App displays advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob processes data associated with your Google Advertising ID for the purpose of serving ads. To delete or reset this data:
Method A — Reset your Google Advertising ID
- Open your device's Settings
- Tap Google → Ads
- Tap Reset advertising ID
This generates a new, unrelated Google Advertising ID. Any historical ad data associated with your previous ID will no longer be linked to your device.
Method B — Delete your Google Advertising ID entirely
- Open Settings → Google → Ads
- Tap Delete advertising ID
This permanently removes your advertising ID from your device. Apps will no longer be able to serve personalized ads to you on this device.
Method C — Opt out of personalized ads
If you prefer to keep your advertising ID but opt out of personalized ads, follow the instructions at Google's advertising ID help page.
Method D — Request deletion through Google
You can also request deletion of advertising data directly through Google's privacy tools at https://myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy.
6. Deleting Google Play subscription data
If you have purchased a PRO subscription, Google Play retains records of your purchase. Ample Soft does not control this data — it is held by Google Play under Google's privacy policy.
To manage or delete your Google Play purchase history, please use Google's privacy tools at https://myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy.
Note that Google Play may be required to retain purchase records for tax, accounting, and legal compliance purposes for a period determined by Google and applicable law.
