AUTO CHAT TRANSLATOR & REPLY

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 24, 2026   ·   Ample Soft

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Ample Soft ("we", "us" or "our") handles information in connection with the Auto Chat Translator & Reply mobile application (the "App", also called "Auto Chat"; package com.amplesoft.autotranslator). The App is available worldwide on Google Play, and this policy applies to all of its users wherever they are.

The short version: the content of your messages never leaves your phone. Crash reports, usage statistics (which you can switch off), remote settings, update checks and ads involve Google, as described in section 4.

The App is not made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by WhatsApp or Meta Platforms, Inc. "WhatsApp" is a trademark of its owner and is used only to describe what the App works with.

2. What the App reads on your phone

•     Notifications from WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business, only after you grant Notification access. The App uses them to translate incoming messages, send the automatic replies you set up, remind you who is waiting for a reply, and send replies you write in the App. It cannot read WhatsApp's chat history, only what WhatsApp shows in a notification.

•     Contacts, only if you allow it, so you can pick a recipient for a scheduled message.

•     Chat exports you choose to share with the App for analysis.

•     Text you type into the App's translator.

3. What the App keeps, and where

All of the following is stored only on your phone, in the App's private storage. None of it is uploaded to us or anyone else.

•     Translated conversations: the text of messages and their translations, so you can check a translation against the original. Kept for as long as the chat exists (up to the most recent 1,000 messages per chat), until you delete the chat or delete everything.

•     Translation history: text you translated on the Translate tab, until you clear it.

•     Analyzed chats: reduced to counts, times and frequent words; the messages themselves are discarded.

•     Your settings: languages, auto-reply rules and away hours, scheduled messages.

Translation runs on your phone using Google ML Kit. The language pack for the language you read in is downloaded from Google automatically, over Wi-Fi only, so translation works from the first message; other language packs are downloaded when you first need them. Only the language pack is downloaded; your text is never sent. Read-aloud uses your phone's own text-to-speech engine.

You can delete all of this at any time in Settings → Delete everything, or by uninstalling the App.

4. Information shared with third parties

We do not run our own servers and do not receive any of your data. The App uses the following Google services:

In the EEA, UK and Switzerland you are asked first and can change your choice in Settings → Ad privacy choices. Everywhere, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.

Never shared with anyone: the text of your messages, translations, auto-reply texts, contacts, chat names or phone numbers. Replies, automatic or written by you, are delivered through WhatsApp itself, on your phone.

Google's use of this information is described at policies.google.com/privacy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

5. Permissions

•     Notification access: to read and answer WhatsApp messages, as described above.

•     Notifications: to show translations, reminders and scheduled-message alerts.

•     Contacts (optional): to pick recipients for scheduled messages.

•     Alarms & reminders: to deliver a scheduled message at the minute you chose.

•     Run at startup: to restore scheduled messages after your phone restarts.

•     Internet: for language-pack downloads, crash reports, remote settings, update checks and ads.

•     Advertising ID: used by Google AdMob, as described above.

6. Data retention and deletion

Data kept on your phone stays until you delete it in the App or uninstall the App. Data held by Google is kept according to Google's own retention policies. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side. To reset what Google holds, use Settings → Delete everything (which also resets the analytics identifier) and reset your advertising ID in your phone's settings.

7. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

8. Security

Data kept by the App stays in its private storage, which other apps cannot read. Data sent to Google travels over encrypted connections.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to its processing. As the App keeps your data only on your phone, you can exercise most of these directly in the App. For data processed by Google, see Google's privacy policy. You may also contact us.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted with a new effective date.
