Last updated: May 20, 2026
Welcome to the FAQ. Below are answers to the most common questions about Deleted Messages: View & Save. If your question isn't answered here, please visit our Support & Help Center or email us at adiqau1@gmail.com.
General Questions
Q1. What does Deleted Messages: View & Save do?
The App reads incoming notifications on your Android device and saves the message text locally. If someone sends you a message and then deletes it, the App still has a copy of what they originally sent — because the notification was delivered to your device before the message was deleted. The App also saves photos, videos, and voice notes from the messaging app's media folders that you select during onboarding.
Q2. Which messaging apps does it work with?
The App can read notifications from the following apps if you select them during onboarding:
- WhatsApp Business
- Facebook Messenger
- Telegram
- Signal
- Skype
- Gmail
Q3. Is the App free to use?
Yes. The basic features of the App are completely free, supported by advertisements. We also offer an optional PRO subscription that removes all advertisements and may unlock additional features. PRO subscriptions are billed through Google Play.
Q4. Does the App work on iPhone?
No. The App is currently available only on Android. iOS does not provide third-party apps with the level of notification access required for this functionality.
Q5. What Android version do I need?
The App supports Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and above. For best performance, we recommend Android 10 or newer.
Q6. What languages does the App support?
English, Hindi, Arabic, French, Spanish (Latin America and Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), German, Italian, and Turkish.
How It Works
Q7. How does the App actually capture deleted messages?
The App uses Android's Notification Access permission to read incoming notifications from the apps you select. When a message arrives, the App saves the notification text to your device. If the sender later deletes the message in their app, the notification text has already been captured and stored locally on your device, so you can still view it.
Q8. Does the App require an internet connection?
The core functionality (capturing notifications) does not require an internet connection. The App only needs the internet to display advertisements, send anonymous crash reports, and process subscription purchases through Google Play.
Q9. Can the App capture messages from before I installed it?
No. The App can only capture messages that arrive as notifications after you install the App and grant Notification Access. Messages sent before installation cannot be recovered.
Q10. Can the App capture messages that didn't generate a notification?
No. The App relies entirely on Android's notification system. If a message doesn't produce a notification (for example, because the chat is muted, notifications are disabled for that app, or you have the chat actively open), the App cannot capture it.
Privacy & Security
Q11. Does the App upload my messages to a server?
No. All saved messages and media remain on your device. We do not upload, store, or have any access to your message content. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Q12. Does the App require my phone number or email?
No. The App does not require any sign-up. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personal information that identifies you.
Q13. What data does the App actually collect?
The App processes only limited anonymous data:
- Anonymous crash reports (via Firebase Crashlytics)
- Anonymous usage statistics (via Firebase Analytics)
- Anonymous performance metrics (via Firebase Performance Monitoring)
- Google Advertising ID for ad serving (via Google AdMob)
None of this data includes the content of your saved messages or media. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Q14. How can I delete all my data?
You can clear all data stored on your device by going to Settings → Apps → Deleted Messages: View & Save → Storage → Clear Storage, or by uninstalling the App. For details on deleting other categories of data (Firebase, AdMob), please visit our Data Deletion Request page.
Q15. Is the App legal to use?
The App itself is a legal Android application. However, how you use it is your responsibility. The App is intended for personal use on a device you own and control. Using it to monitor another person's messages without their informed consent may violate privacy, anti-stalking, or surveillance laws in your jurisdiction. Please review our Terms of Use, especially Section 6 (Acceptable Use), before using the App.
Subscriptions & Pricing
Q16. How much does the PRO subscription cost?
At the time of this update, our subscription tiers are:
- Weekly: PKR 1,400 per week
- Monthly: PKR 2,800 per month (with promotional pricing shown at purchase)
Pricing is shown in your local currency at the point of purchase. Pricing may change — the current price is always shown in the App before you confirm.
Q17. What does PRO give me?
- Removes all advertisements (App Open, Interstitial, Native, and Banner)
- May unlock additional features in future updates
- Supports the continued development of the App
Q18. How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through Google Play, not through the App. To cancel:
- Open the Google Play Store app
- Tap your profile icon
- Tap Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
- Find Deleted Messages: View & Save
- Tap Cancel subscription
You can also access this via Settings → Manage Subscription in the App.
Q19. Can I get a refund?
All payments are processed by Google Play, so refunds are handled through Google Play's refund process. Google offers automatic self-service refunds within 48 hours of purchase. After 48 hours, refunds are at Google's discretion. See our Refund Policy for complete details.
Q20. Does uninstalling the App cancel my subscription?
No. Uninstalling the App does NOT cancel an active subscription. You must cancel through Google Play (see Q18 above). If you uninstall without cancelling, you will continue to be charged on each renewal.
Troubleshooting
Q21. The App isn't capturing any deleted messages. Why?
This is usually one of three causes:
- Notification Access not granted. Go to Settings → Apps → Special access → Notification access, and enable the App.
- Battery optimization is killing the service. Go to Settings → Apps → Deleted Messages: View & Save → Battery, and select Unrestricted.
- Source app's notifications are disabled. Make sure the messaging app (e.g. WhatsApp) has notifications enabled in your system Settings.
For detailed troubleshooting, see our Support & Help Center.
Q22. The App was working but suddenly stopped
This usually happens because of Android battery optimization, system updates, or manufacturer-specific power saving features. On Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, and Huawei devices, you may need to enable Autostart for the App in your phone's specific battery settings. Try rebooting your device first, then check Notification Access is still granted.
Q23. I purchased PRO but I'm still seeing ads
- Open the App's Settings
- Tap Restore Purchase
- Make sure you're signed into Google Play with the same account used for the purchase
If the issue persists, please email us at adiqau1@gmail.com with your Google Play order ID.
About Ads
Q24. Why does the App show advertisements?
Advertisements allow us to offer the App free of charge to users worldwide. We use Google AdMob, which is one of the largest and most trusted ad networks. If you prefer not to see ads, you can purchase a PRO subscription which removes them entirely.
Q25. What types of ads will I see?
The App uses four ad formats:
- App Open Ads — Shown briefly when you launch the App
- Interstitial Ads — Full-screen ads at natural transitions, like after viewing a chat
- Native Advanced Ads — Ads that blend with the App's interface (clearly labeled as "Ad")
- Banner Ads — Small ads at the top or bottom of some screens
Q26. Can I see fewer ads without paying?
The ad frequency is already capped to avoid disrupting your experience — you won't see ads back-to-back, and there is a hard limit per session. To remove all ads, the PRO subscription is the only option.
Q27. How do I turn off personalized ads?
- Open your device's Settings
- Tap Google → Manage your Google Account
- Go to Data & Privacy → Ad personalization
- Turn off ad personalization
You'll still see ads, but they will not be personalized based on your interests.
